ABOUT THE ARTIST

Painting, Mixed Media, Author

Moving to New Orleans I was immediately drawn to the Mississippi and its affinity to the city. I am intrigued with both the juxtaposition and interaction of nature and man-made structures found on the Levee and River. The activity is constant due to both man and nature. The River is a conduit for boats and wildlife. The bridges span the river and connect its banks. The bright green parrots nest along the Levee in the telephone poles. The train-tracks and working cranes running along side add linear elements. All of these images converge in a cacophony of River life.

Experience

History

I received a degree in Studio Art from University of Vermont. I have practiced some form of Art ever since. Some of my accomplishments include: being accepted to Art of the Northeast; having written and illustrated a children’s book — Summer Friends; ran and taught an after-school children’s art program and was a visiting artist at various local schools. I have exhibited in solo and group shows and have had work in galleries in both Connecticut and Martha’s Vineyard. Arriving in New Orleans I am excited to be part of this artist community. I have a studio/gallery on Magazine Street.
